The Ford GT40 is an iconic race car. It offered Ford four successive wins at Le Mans from 1966 to 1969 against the once dominant Ferrari (six wins in a row from 1960 to 1965, still unmatched. But that's another story for another day). This car is so important in the history of the American automaker to the point that even organizing a GT40-only race is an historical event in its self.
In this clip, some of today's living legends like Adrian Newey and and triple F1 world champion Jackie Stewart take the wheel of the of the 40 inch tall race car around the Goodwood Motor Circuit. It's so refreshing to see how well cared for these cars are yet they still get involved in racing action even after nearly 50 years from their debut.
