Mercedes-Benz E63 AMG Revealed with 549 Hp

Produces 549 Hp (557 PS), 576 Hp (585 PS) on the S-Model variant...

Mercedes-Benz unveiled the E63 AMG based on the restyled E-Class saloon. The new model is powered by the same 5.5-Liter V8 that now produces 549 Hp and 720 Nm of torque. The engine sends its power to the rear wheels through the AMG SPEEDSHIFT MCT seven-speed sports transmission. It will hit 100 Km/h (62 mph) in 4.2 seconds and has an electronically limited top speed of 250 km/h (155 mph).

Aesthetic changes include redesigned headlights, a new bespoke front grille, new aggressive front and rear bumpers and a new rear diffuser. The S-model variant comes with a set of 19-inch, 10-spoke alloy wheels.

The 4MATIC S-Model variant will produce even more power with 576 Hp (585 PS). The extra power as well as the all-wheel drive system allow it to shed half a second over the RWD variant in its time to 100 Km/h (62 mph). So what Mercedes-Benz have done here is introduce two versions of its AMG saloon to compete respectively with the rear wheel drive BMW M5 and the 4-Wheel drive Audi RS6. Brilliant!
