Volkswagen Polo R WRC Makes its Official Debut

We've already seen several videos of the new Polo R WRC undergoing some intensive testing sessions. But now the German hatchback is ready to tackle its first rally next January and it has even earned a brand new livery featuring the almighty red bull.

The Polo R WRC car is powered by a 1.6-liter turbo engine producing 300 Hp with a total weight of 1,200 Kg. Volkswagen's latest crowned participation in the world rally championship goes back to the eighties when the German manufacturer won the Group A rally championship in 1986 thanks to talent of Swedish driver Kenneth Eriksson at the wheel of a 1.6-Liter Golf GTI. 1. They're really good cars. They're not extremely fast but they pick up enough for you to merge onto a highway. I've never had a problem getting up a hill with one so I'm not really sure what that guy is talking about.
