2010 Ford Mustang by Vaughn Gittin Jr.
Vaughn Gttin Jr.'s Mustang RTR-C sketch

The Mustang RTR-C is one of the reasons that remind us how great muscle cars are. The story behind this stunning piece of art is quite impressive. It began as a one-off project created by world championship drifter Vaughn Gittin Jr. and ended up by the establishment of a whole new brand called "RTR". The RTR-C put the bar too high for the new RTR brand and we hope the upcoming projects will be as good.

VIDEO: Bugatti Veyron Grand Sport reviewed by Jay Leno

Veyron GS 02

The Bugatti Veyron is one of the last decade's greatest technical achievements. And it's always a pleasure to see it in action. This clip is from the latest "Jay Leno's Garage" episode. Don't expect to see the car going sideways but i think it's an entertaining video anyway and it's still worth 15 minutes of your time.

Some high resolution pictures of the Bugatti Veyron Grand Sport:

Mazda 787B 05

The Mazda 787B, winner of the 1991 edition of Le Mans is the first Japanese car ever, and sadly the last, to win the 24 hours race. It has also competed in the Japan Sports Prototype Championship (JSPC) and the World Sportscar Championship in the same period. It was an innovative race car with a very particular powerplant and a great sound.

Mazda 787B 01

The 787B is powered by a 4 rotor (0.654 cc each) Wankel rotary engine, an engine that Mazda kept improving over the years unlike other automakers including Mercedes-Benz and Citroën who dropped the developpement of such an engine due to the costs of reducing its high emissions, consumption and lack of reliability at that time.

Sauber Mercedes C11 01

In the early 90's, Mercedes-Benz and Peter Sauber came up with the C11, a brilliant successor to the already remarkable Sauber C9 which won the 1989 edition of Le Mans 24 Hours. The C11 is well known today for being Michael Schumacher's Silver Arrow in which he have won the last race of the 1990 World Sportscar Championship.

The 1990 season of the World Sportscar Championship was marked by the complete domination of the C11 prototype which won all but one race. And that of course led Mercedes-Benz to winning the championship that year. The C11 however, did not follow the steps of its older sister by winning the 24 hours of Le Mans. In fact, Mercedes chose not to participate to the 1990 edition as it was not part of the WSC.

Noble M600

Unsurprisingly, the new Noble M600 supercar found its place in the top ten fastest cars round the Top Gear test track. Watch this new video and see what the Noble is capable of. If you want to guess first, this is a reminder of the technical specifications of the 200k $ supercar:

Engine: 4.4 L twin turbo Volvo V8
Transmission: 6 speed manual
power: 650 Hp
weight: 1275 Kg
naught to 100km/h (62mph): 3.0s
top speed: 362 km/h (225mph)

At the Noble offical website you can read this: "The 650bhp Noble M600, for those who love to drive. Designed and engineered with a purity that rewards driver skill, the M600 neither dictates or hinders with unnecessary Computer assistance. The Noble M600 puts you back in the drivers seat."

What more can i say? It's really a proper driver's car, it's a breath of fresh air in a heavyweight supercars' era...
The Peugeot SR1 concept: a Peugeot that looks good?

peugeot SR1 concept-02

I'm going to start by a look back to a particular Peugeot model: the Peugeot 406 coupé.

If the nearly thirteen years old car looked (and still looks) good, it's mainly because it didn't have those huge headlights that have been dramatically growing up since the xx7 Peugeot models (as you can see in the 907 concept pictured below). And that of course is in a big part thanks to the Pininfarina designers.

But apparently things are going to change with the new SR1 concept which is due to be unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show next march.
